Multiple Myeloma Case Pending in Louisiana Slated for Fall Trial

NEW ORLEANS -- A multiple myeloma case that contends work at a Louisiana gas station exposed the plaintiff to benzene has recently been scheduled for trial later this year, sources said. Sanderson, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 09-07336 (E.D. La.).
Sources told HarrisMartin that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has scheduled a Nov. 1 trial setting.
The complaint says that Richard Sanderson's work pumping gas and performing various mechanical duties at a Shell gas station in New Orleans from 1965 to 1978 exposed him to "high levels" of benzene.
