EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- A recently filed benzene lawsuit in Illinois has accused a number of defendants for wrongfully exposing the residents of a nearby neighborhood to a variety of pollutants produced at adjacent facilities. Hunter, et al. v. Solutia Inc., et al., No. n/a (Ill. 3rd Jud. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
The complaint was filed in the Illinois 3rd Judicial Circuit Court for Madison County in February and contends that the defendants' buildings, which were used for copper recycling and to produce chemicals, leaked and dumped pollutants into the ground and air.
