BEAUMONT, Texas -- Defendants in a Texas benzene case have filed a motion to transfer venue, stating that the plaintiffs have little to no connection to Texas, according to recent court filings. McClurg, et al. v. Ingram Barge Co., et al., No. 09-504 (E.D. Texas).
On April 7, the defendants backed their motion in a reply brief filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, stating that the venue is not justified simply because two of the more than 30 defendants have headquarters in Texas.
