BEAUMONT, Texas -- A Texas appellate court has issued three opinions relating to settlement and deposition disputes in an underlying benzene case that is slated to begin trial before the end of the month. In Re: Univar USA Inc., Nos. 09-10-0065-CV; 09-10-00148-CV; 09-10-00064-CV (Texas Ct. App., Ninth Dist.).
In the recent opinions, the Texas Ninth District Court of Appeals ruled that the plaintiffs must disclose details relating to settlement agreements, that the deposition of one corporate representative was not supported by sufficient evidence and that the deposition of a second corporate representative could proceed with restrictions.
