BOSTON -- A group of scientists have filed a second motion for leave to file an amicus curiae brief that they claim will assist the court in "understanding the complex issues of science and medicine involved in this case." Milward v. Acuity Specialty Products Group Inc., No. 09-2270 (1st Cir.).
In the April 13 motion filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit, the group also filed its amended amici brief, in which it contends the court wrongfully dismissed the case, which alleged that exposure to benzene caused the development of acute promyelocytic leukemia.
