CHICAGO -- A former auto mechanic has filed a benzene complaint in Illinois state court, contending that his development of multiple myeloma was a direct result of exposure to benzene and other hydrocarbon-containing products used during his employment. Hill, et al. v. General Motors Corp., et al., No. 2010L003686 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).
Filed on March 24 in the Illinois Circuit Court for Cook County by George E. Hill and his wife, Joyce Hill, the 134-page complaint asserts causes of action for negligence, breach of implied warranty, strict liability and loss of consortium.
