NEW ORLEANS -- The remaining parties in a myelodysplastic syndrome benzene case have reached settlement agreements just two weeks prior to a scheduled March 29 trial date, sources have confirmed to HarrisMartin. Barrois, et al. v. Fireman's Fund Insurance, et al., No. 09-380 (E.D. La.).
In an order of dismissal entered March 15, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana noted that it had been advised that all parties have "firmly agreed upon a compromise" in the matter.
