NEW ORLEANS -- A former employee of a facility owner and operated by Tenneco Oil Co. and, later, Mobil Oil Co., has filed a lawsuit, claiming that his development of multiple myeloma is linked to benzene exposure at the location. Washington, et al. v. Baker Petrolite Corp., et al., No. 09-07926 (E.D. La.).
In the Dec. 28 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs also invoke the discovery rule, saying that the cause of Charles Washington Sr.'s multiple myeloma was not detected until within one year of the filing.
