HOUSTON -- A federal court has denied challenges to general causation testimony that links benzene exposure in solvents and paints to the development of multiple myeloma. Brown v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 08-413 (S.D. Texas).

In separate, one-page orders entered Sept. 29 and 30, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas denied defense challenges to the general causation testimony of Sheila L. Butler, M.D., Robert Harrison, M.C., M.P.H., Peter Infante D.D.S., Dr.P.H. and Melvyn Kopstein, Ph.D.
