NEW ORLEANS -- A group of plaintiffs have filed a new benzene complaint in Louisiana federal court, claiming that their careers as laborers at an Olin Kraft Plant required them to work in close proximity to benzene-containing products. Cole, et al. v. Ashland Chemical Inc., et al., No. 09-6584 (E.D. La.).
On Sept. 29, three former employees of the plant filed their lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
The plaintiffs claim that their exposure to benzene occurred at various time periods while they were employed as laborers at a plant in Louisiana. The claims …
