Laborer's Family Files Complaint, Says MM Caused by Benzene

NEW ORLEANS -- Representatives of the estate of a former laborer have sued Chevron USA Inc. in federal court, claiming that exposure to the company's benzene-containing products led to the development of multiple myeloma. Wallace, et al. v. Chevron USA Inc., No. 09-4202 (E.D. La.).

The complaint, filed June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, argues that the defendant knew, or should have known, about the dangers of benzene exposure.
