BEAUMONT, Texas -- The representatives of the estate of a former seaman have filed a lawsuit in Texas federal court, contending that the decedents' work loading, transporting and unloading benzene-containing products caused him to develop acute myelogenous leukemia. McClurg, et al. v. Ingram Barge Co., et al., No. n/a (E.D. Texas).

The July complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas under the Jones Act.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Duard Wayne McClurg, who the plaintiffs claim was exposed to a variety of toxic chemicals, including benzene, while working as a seaman …
