La. Judge Denies Attempts to File Amended Complaint as Untimely

BATON ROUGE, La. -- A Louisiana federal judge has denied plaintiff attempts to amend their complaint for a third time calling it untimely. Bishop, et al. v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 07-2832 (E.D. La.).

On May 6, Judge Alma L. Chasez of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana issued the two-page order, but did not elaborate.

The plaintiffs asserted the claims on behalf of James Manuel Bishop Jr., who they claim was exposed to benzene-containing products while working as a pipefitter, mechanic and plumber for a total of 20 years.
