Continental Demands Contribution From National Union for Benzene Claims

MINNEAPOLIS - Continental Casualty Co. has filed a subrogation action against National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, seeking contribution for underlying benzene exposure actions brought against Valspar Corp. Continental Casualty Co. v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, No. 0:09-cv-00287 (D. Minn.).

In a Feb. 9 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Continental alleges that the underlying benzene claims fall within the scope of coverage provided by certain United National liability policies.
