BEAUMONT, Texas - The widow of a pipefitter/welder whose deadly leukemia was allegedly caused by workplace exposure to benzene has sued Exxon Mobil Corp. and 66 other defendants in Texas state court. Johnson v. Exxon Mobil Corp., No. A183-400 (Texas Dist. Ct., Jefferson Cty.).
Vickie Johnson, the widow of Cloyce M. Johnson, filed her complaint in the Jefferson County District Court on February 27. She claims that her husband, who died of acute myelogenous leukemia in March 2007, was exposed to benzene at various sites while working with benzene-containing products.
