Virginia Jury Awards $1.7 Million in Case Against John Crane

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A Virginia jury has awarded $1.7 million to the widow of a former boilerman and heating mechanic in a trial that concluded with only John Crane as the lone remaining defendant. King, et al. v. John Crane Inc., et al., No. 38504-AF (Va. Cir. Ct., City of Newport News).
The Nov. 3 award from the City of Newport News Circuit Court included $1.5 million in compensatory damages, sources told HarrisMartin.
Judge Aundria D. Foster presided over the trial.
