San Francisco Jury Rejects Plumber's Asbestos Claims

SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco jury has reached a defense verdict in favor of Kaiser Gypsum Co. Inc., rejecting claims from a former plumber who said his mesothelioma was caused by exposure to the defendant's joint compound product. Flanery v. Kaiser Gypsum Co., Inc., No. 274553 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
Sources said that Kaiser Gypsum was the only defendant remaining when the San Francisco County Superior Court jury reached the Oct. 9 verdict.
The trial was presided over by Judge Ronald Evans Quidachay.
