LOS ANGELES -- A California state court judge has awarded an asbestos defendant summary judgment in a naval exposure case after the defendant argued the claims were barred by the sophisticated user doctrine, sources told HarrisMartin. Munn, et al. v. Armstrong International Inc., et al., No. BC379250 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

On Sept. 15, however, the plaintiffs filed a motion for reconsideration with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, saying that new facts and circumstances warrant the denial of the motion.
