$2.6 Million Awarded at Conclusion of Lung Cancer Trial

SAN FRANCISCO -- A California jury has awarded $2.6 million in a lung cancer case, attributing 5 percent liability to the lone remaining defendant, sources told HarrisMartin. Vanden Broek, et al. v. Plant Insulation Co., et al., No. 454726 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
In a Sept. 2 verdict, the San Francisco County Superior Court jury found that Plant Insulation Co. was negligent and that its insulation products, sold under the name Pabco, were defectively designed.
The trial, which began on Aug. 14, was presided over by Judge James J. McBride.
