CHICAGO -- An Illinois appellate court has reversed a trial court's order compelling discovery, finding that several plaintiff requests for documents spanning 40 years were overbroad and violated discovery rules. In re: All Asbestos Litigation; Cooney and Conway v. Lisa A. LaConte, et al., No. 1-06-2163 and 1-06-2691, consolidated (Ill. Ct. App., 1st Dist., 4th Div.).

In the June 5 opinion, the Illinois First District Court of Appeals said that the discovery request did not comply with limitations set forth in a case management order entered for the trial court's coordinated asbestos docket.
