Troubled Multi-Laboratory SV40 Study Making Second Try at Publication




icResultsendic of a multi-lab study designed to test techniques used to look for SV40 in mesothelioma are yielding objections from the study's own participants, who are for a second time advising against publishing the study because they say it is flawed.

photo-1The study, which got under way on the heels of a 1997 meeting held to discuss SV40, mesothelioma and other rare cancers, chronicles results of a nine-laboratory investigation of methods used to detect SV40 DNA in mesothelioma tumor specimens.
