Jury Awards $7.5 Million at End of Separate Trial on Damages




NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- A New Jersey jury has awarded $7.5 million at the conclusion of a take-home exposure case in which the jury only deliberated on the issue of damages. Anderson v. ExxonMobil Corp., No. MID-L-2356-03(AS) (N.J. Super. Ct., Middlesex Cty.).

The May 28 verdict from the Middlesex County (N.J.) Superior Court jury was a follow-up to a separate jury's finding late last year that ExxonMobil was liable for plaintiff Bonnie Anderson's mesothelioma.

Judge Ann McCormick presided over both trials. The more recent trial began on May 21.
