Pa. Jury Awards $7 Million in Case Against Premises Defendant




PITTSBURGH -- A Pennsylvania jury has awarded $7 million in an asbestos case, assessing 40 percent liability against the remaining party, a premises defendant. Tripoli, et al. v. Beazer East Inc., as successor-in-interest to Koppers Co. Inc., No. 06-11580 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Allegheny Cty.).

The May 22 verdict from the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Allegheny County jury is believed to be one of the largest entered by a Pittsburgh jury in a mesothelioma case.
