Parties Reach Settlement Agreement after Jury Enters $12 Million Verdict

PHILADELPHIA -- Plaintiffs in a Pennsylvania mesothelioma case have reached a confidential settlement with lone remaining defendant Garlock shortly after jurors had awarded $12 million in damages to the plaintiffs. Grumley, et al. v. Garlock Inc., et al., No. 002823 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
The Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County reached the verdict May 8, awarding $9 million to the plaintiff for past and future pain and suffering and loss of ability to enjoy life and $3 million to the plaintiff's wife for past and future loss of consortium.
