Los Angeles Jury Finds for Defense in Cement Pipe Case

LOS ANGELES -- A jury has rejected the mesothelioma claims in a California case, finding that while the decedent was exposed to asbestos in the defendant's product, the exposure was not a substantial contributing factor in his illness. Dye v. Ferguson Enterprises, No. BC359929 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The March 25 defense verdict was rendered by the Los Angeles County Superior Court and released lone defendant Ferguson Enterprises, the successor-in-interest to P.E. O'Hair and Co., of any liability.

The trial was presided over by Judge Ronald Sohigian.
