ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A Minnesota jury has awarded $4.6 million to plaintiffs in a mesothelioma case involving John Crane gaskets and packing, sources told HarrisMartin. Newinski v. John Crane, et al., No. C1-07-50672 (Minn. 2nd Jud. Dist. Ct., Ramsey Cty.).

Jurors in the Second Judicial District Court for Ramsey County reached the verdict March 13 after deliberating several hours at the conclusion of a 10-day trial, sources said. The trial was presided over by Judge John T. Finley.

John Crane was the lone defendant at the time of the verdict, according to sources. The jury's $4,611,492.00 award included $760,000 …
