LOS ANGELES -- A California Court of Appeal has affirmed a $3.9 million verdict in an asbestos case, opining that the plaintiffs presented substantial evidence linking asbestos in Crane Co. valves to the decedent's mesothelioma. Norris, et al. v. Crane Co., No. B196031 (Calif. Ct. App., 2nd Dist., Div. 5).
In the March 11 opinion, the Second District appellate court said that expert testimony proffered by the plaintiff sufficiently established that every exposure to asbestos fibers -- specifically those in Crane Co. valves -- increased the total dose in his lungs and ultimately led to his injury.
