LOS ANGELES -- After a California trial court denied several of its post-trial motions, John Crane has noted its intent to appeal the decision, which struck the motions on both procedural and substantive grounds. Pelley v. John Crane Inc., No. B206437 (Calif. Ct. App. 2nd Dist.).

On March 7, John Crane filed a notice of appeal in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, contending that the court wrongfully denied the motions, which cited a lack of causation evidence and an improper punitive damage award as grounds for reversing a $12.4 million asbestos verdict.
