San Francisco Jury Awards $20 Million in Joint Compound Case




SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco jury has awarded $20,050,000 to a woman who claimed that her mesothelioma was caused by exposure to asbestos products she used while working part-time for her family's construction company. Mahoney v. Georgia Pacific, et al., No. CGC-06-458140 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).

The California Superior Court for San Francisco County jury found on March 10 that defendant Georgia Pacific was 30 percent liable for plaintiff Joan Mahoney's asbestos-related illness.
