Jury Enters $9.944 Million Verdict; 3 Defendants Assessed 9 Percent Liability




LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has awarded $9.5 million in general damages to a 74-year old mesothelioma plaintiff and his wife, and has spread nine percent liability across the three defendants remaining at the time of the verdict, sources told HarrisMartin. Rollin, et al. v. American Standard Inc., et al., No. BC372275 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury reached the verdict March 5 after a 16-day trial presided over by Judge Richard Fruin. Sources said that jurors deliberated for one-and-a-half days before reaching the verdict.
