Jury Reaches $4 Million Verdict; Settlement Reached Before Phase II




PHILADELPHIA -- A Philadelphia jury has awarded $4 million at the conclusion of Phase I in a mesothelioma trial, but the parties reached a confidential settlement before Phase II could begin, sources told HarrisMartin. Wheeler, et al. v. A.W. Chesterton, et al., May Term 2006 No. 0715 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).

On Feb. 14, the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County jury awarded $2 million to the decedent's estate and $2 million to the decedent's children for the wrongful death of their father.
