Dow Chemical Company Vindicated at Conclusion of Lung Cancer Trial
February 4, 2008
ANGELTON, Texas -- A Texas jury has rejected the claims of a man who worked on premises owned by the Dow Chemical Company at the conclusion of a three-week trial, sources tell HarrisMartin. Wolf v. The Dow Chemical Co., No. 16383*BH01-A (Texas 23rd Dist. Ct., Brazoria Cty.).
The 23rd District Court for Brazoria County jury reached the verdict on Feb. 1, accepting the defendant's contention that the decedent's lung cancer was instead caused by smoking, rather than asbestos.
The trial was presided over by Judge Ben Hardin, after which jurors deliberated for one-and-a-half days before reaching the verdict.
