LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has found for two defendants in a joint compound and pipe insulation case, rejecting claims that the decedent's mesothelioma was caused by exposure to the products at an oil refinery and while doing home repairs. Saller, et al. v. Bondex International Inc., et al., No. BC342363 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury deliberated for less than one day before reaching the defense verdict on Dec. 21 for both Crown Cork & Seal and Bondex International Inc., sources told HarrisMartin. Judge Robert O'Neil oversaw the trial.
