Jury Awards $3.5 Million in Mesothelioma Case

CLEVELAND - A Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas jury has awarded $3.5 million to the family of a man who died of mesothelioma after working around asbestos for about nine years during the late 1960s and 1970s. Robinson v. North American Refractories Co., No. n/a, (Ohio Comm. Pls., Cuyahoga Cty.).
The jury deliberated for three days before returning the verdict, which includes $2.5 million in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages assessed against North American Refractories Co.
