NEW YORK -- A Special Master in New York's asbestos docket has issued a memorandum in which she has asked plaintiffs' firm Weitz & Luxenberg to isolate and identify cases in which a non-malignant diagnosis was made independent of a screening.
The Nov. 28 memo from Special Master Laraine Pacheco was in response to recent concerns that diagnoses in cases filed by the firm involved screening companies that have now come under fire for alleged unethical and illegal diagnosing procedures.
