WILMINGTON, Del. -- A Delaware state court judge has asked five members of the state's bar to investigate concerns raised by the Delaware Chamber of Commerce that the rise of personal injury lawsuits filed on behalf of out-of-state plaintiffs endangers the state's judicial system.
In a Nov. 19 letter responding to the concerns, Judge James T. Vaughn Jr. of the Delaware Superior Court for Kent County said that he has asked five members of the bar to consider the concerns, examine current procedures for handling the claims and give the involved counsel an opportunity to comment.
