Amici Group Urges Tenn. Court to Overturn Secondhand Exposure Decision

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A group of amici parties have filed a brief supporting the reversal of an intermediate appellate court decision that found a landowner defendant could be held liable for secondhand asbestos exposure injuries. Satterfield, et al. v. Breeding Insulation Co., et al., No. E2006-00903 (Tenn. Sup. Ct.).
In the Oct. 31 brief filed in the Tennessee Supreme Court, the amici claim that the court's decision is contrary to decisions made in Georgia, New York, Michigan, Texas, Kentucky and Maryland in recent years.
