Wisconsin Court Reverses Summary Judgment for Several Asbestos Defendants

WAUSAU, Wis. –– A Wisconsin appellate court has reversed summary judgment awards entered in favor of several asbestos defendants, finding in part that the defendants were not protected under workers’ compensation law. Calewarts, et al. v. CR Meyer and Sons Company, et al., No. 2011AP1414 (Wis. Ct. App., Dist. III).
In the July 3 opinion, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District III, ruled that there were disputed issues of material fact that, at this time, preclude summary judgment for the defendants.
