CLEVELAND - An Ohio appellate court has dismissed as moot a California-based plaintiff's law firm's appeal of an order disqualifying the firm from appearing in an Ohio asbestos case. Kananian, et al. v. Lorillard Tobacco Co., et al., No. 89528 (Ohio Ct. App., 8th Dist.).
In a July 13 decision granting Lorillard Tobacco Co.'s motion to dismiss Brayton Purcell's appeal, the Eighth Appellate District of the Ohio Court of Appeals cited the state Supreme Court's decision in Miner v. Witt (1910), 82 Ohio St. 237.
