Former Carpenter Awarded $1.9 Million in Meso Trial

DALLAS -- A Texas jury has awarded $1.9 million in a mesothelioma trial involving claims asserted by a former carpenter. Harvey v. Bondex International, Inc., et al., No. 2006-64449 (Texas Ct., Dallas Cty. #2).
Sources said that Kaiser Gypsum Co. and Bondex International/RPM Inc. were the only remaining defendants at the time of the June 1 verdict in the Dallas County Court #2. Judge T. King Fifer oversaw the two-week trial.
Ralph Harvey alleged that his work as a carpenter exposed him to asbestos-containing drywall joint cement compounds, ultimately causing his mesothelioma.
