La. Judge Enters Judgment on $3.2 Million Meso Verdict

BATON ROUGE, La. -- A Louisiana court has entered a $3.2 million verdict against eight defendants accused of contributing to a former pipefitter/welder's mesothelioma. Rando v. Jacob Constructors, et al., No. n/a (La. 19th Jud. Dist. Ct., Parish of East Baton Rouge).
The 19th Judicial District Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge awarded $2.8 million for pain suffering and mental anguish and $402,000 in special damages after a two-week trial in January, but the verdict was not entered by Judge Robert J. Burns until April 16, sources said.
