Judge Enters $1.2 Million Judgment in Split Asbestos Verdict

LOS ANGELES -- A judge who oversaw the asbestos trial of a former U.S. Navy worker has entered a judgment against Leslie Controls Inc. for $1,218,565, the company's share of a $5.7 million verdict. Merrill, et al. v. Alfa Laval Inc., et al., No. BC352170 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury determined on March 13 that Leslie Controls was liable for the plaintiffs' injury, but that defendants Cooper Cameron Corp., Crosby Valves Inc. and Cla-Val Co. were not.
