Appeals Court Affirms $240,000 Verdict for Asbestos-Exposed Plaintiff

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - A Missouri appellate court has affirmed a jury's award of $240,000 to a plaintiff, saying the claimant proved that asbestos was present in his work environment and that he was, therefore, exposed. Hedgecorth v. Union Pacific Railroad Co. No. ED86817 (Mo. Ct. App.).
On Aug. 22, the Missouri Court of Appeals affirmed the St. Louis City Circuit Court jury's verdict in Timothy P. Hedgecorth's favor for personal injuries he suffered from exposure to asbestos while working for Union Pacific Railroad Co.
