Armstrong Holdings Inc. had a busy September. On Sept. 21, a Pennsylvania newspaper reported that asbestos material was found in insulation removed from its Lancaster, Pa., plant. A week later, the company announced it would take a $31 million hit against third quarter profits due, in part, to the toll asbestos litigation has taken on the company.
