Attorney-Client Privilege Protects Documents inOCF Reinsurance Dispute, Ohio Court Says

COLUMBUS, Ohio - An insurance carrier seeking coverage from its reinsurer for asbestos losses paid to Owens Corning Fiberglas (OCF) may not compel the reinsurer to produce certain documents because they are protected by the attorney-client privilege, a federal judge has ruled. Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. v. Excess Insurance Co. Ltd., No. 2:99-CV-389 (S.D. Ohio).
