Jury Rejects Low-Dose, Chrysotile Product as Factor in Meso Development




LOS ANGELES -- A California jury has reached a verdict in favor of remaining defendants John Crane and Thorpe Insulation, in part determining that John Crane's low-dose, chrysotile product was not a substantial contributing factor in the plaintiff's mesothelioma. Robertson, et al. v. Alfa Laval, et al., No. BC332170 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

Instead, the Los Angeles Superior Court jury on July 18 opined that it was amosite-containing thermal insulation that caused Michael Robertson's pleural mesothelioma, sources told HarrisMartin.
