SPOKANE, Wash. - A Washington state superior court judge has certified a statewide class of homeowners who claim their homes have been damaged as a result of the asbestos-containing product being used to insulate them. Barbanti v. W.R. Grace & Co., et al., No. 00-2-01756-6 (Wash. Super. Ct., Spokane Cty.).
Judge Kathleen M. O'Connor of the Spokane County Superior Court issued her ruling Dec. 19, finding that claims filed against Zonolite Attic Insulation maker W.R. Grace & Co. met all requirements for a class action under Civil Rule 23.
