MARF Awards First-Ever Independent Mesothelioma Research Grants




SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF) has awarded the first-ever independent grants to two doctors involved in what MARF called cutting-edge efforts to eradicate mesothelioma.

MARF awarded the two $100,000 research grants to Dr. Joseph R. Testa and Dr. Hedy Kindler last November as a part of a new program encouraging study of novel therapies to fight mesothelioma, which kills between 2,500 and 3,000 people each year and is generally associated with asbestos exposure.
