High Court Won't Reconsider Ruling on Bid to Reinstate Asbestos Verdict




AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Supreme Court has denied a petition for rehearing, ending an attempt to reinstate an $850,000 asbestos verdict. Bailey, et al. v. Mobil Oil Corp., et al., No. 06-0444 (Texas Sup. Ct.).

The state's high court denied the motion for rehearing on Dec. 22 in a list order.

The plaintiffs had filed for rehearing on Nov. 17. The original petition asserted by Pearlie Bailey, James Thibodeaux, Kevin Paul and Carolyn Bailey was denied by the Supreme Court on Oct. 27.
