Calif. Jury Finds for ExxonMobil Oil in Mesothelioma Case

SAN FRANCISCO -- A California jury has reached a verdict in favor of ExxonMobil Oil Corp., rejecting the plaintiffs' contention that five months of working around insulation at the defendant's refinery caused one of the plaintiff' mesothelioma. Jones, et al. v. Advocate Mines Limited, et al, No. 447690 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
The San Francisco Superior Court jury reached the verdict on Aug. 11 after a trial before Judge Kevin McCarthy. ExxonMobil Oil Corp. and Thorpe Insulation were the remaining defendants at the time of the verdict.
